Paul Supplee St. Croix Falls, WI

Paul began creating ceramic art after a career as a Swiss-trained Pastry Chef and Food Scientist. The transition from pastry arts to pottery came naturally—many of the tools and techniques overlap. He built his own studio in rural St. Croix Falls, where all of his creations now take shape.

Working primarily in earthenware, Paul is drawn to its wide palette of colors and textures. Most of his glazes are crafted from scratch, designed to flow freely or develop intriguing textures in the kiln. This approach ensures that every piece is truly unique.

While he creates some functional kitchenware, most of his work is decorative—totems (both hanging and standing), birdhouses, tree trolls, and garden follies are among the favorites. There are also whimsical curiosities that seem to spring to life on their own, without need for explanation.

Each piece is one of a kind and makes a memorable gift for gardeners, birders, or anyone who loves the natural world.

The masks include faces with different expressions and styles, such as a smiling sun, a green face with curly hair, and a yellow face with a small bird on its nose. There is also a mask labeled "Wisconsin Wood Tick" resembling a tick insect.
